Cashmere is a symbol of luxury and comfort. Its fine, soft fibers provide not only warmth but also an elegant look. However, like any expensive and delicate material, it requires special care - especially in case of unexpected accidents, such as spilled coffee, a red wine stain or a drop of tomato sauce.
If something like this happens to you, don't panic ! Just follow a few simple steps.
Once you realize you've stained your favorite cashmere sweater or scarf, it's important to act quickly, but with caution . The sooner you take care of the stain, the less chance it has of soaking deep into the fibers and leaving permanent damage.
What should you definitely not do?
The first step to removing the stain is to gently soak it in lukewarm water . The temperature of the water is key – too hot could cause the cashmere to shrink, while too cold may not be effective enough.
How to proceed correctly?
Cashmere fibers require similar care to your hair. Aggressive detergents are not suitable as they could dry out the fibers and disrupt their structure.
The best choice is a gentle shampoo , ideally without sulfates and silicones. Just a drop is enough – a larger amount is not needed.
How to do it?
Once the stain is gone or has significantly lightened, it's time to rinse thoroughly. Use only lukewarm water and be careful not to distort the fabric. You can change the water in the sink, wring it out, and leave it for a while to rinse out the shampoo.
After washing, never:
Do not wring out cashmere! This could cause it to become deformed. Do not use a hair dryer or a dryer! Hot air can dry out the fibers and make them brittle. It is worth waiting for cashmere to dry naturally
Cashmere is very sensitive to stretching and losing its shape, so drying it is as important as cleaning it. The biggest mistake is hanging it on a hanger - wet fibers can stretch out.
So how to dry cashmere properly?
If after drying you find that the stain still remains, you can repeat the whole process. If it is a very stubborn stain (for example grease), we recommend Take the piece to a dry cleaner . But avoid regular dry cleaners, where aggressive products could damage your sweater.
We can recommend cleany.cz , which we have verified will take great care of your products. In addition, you can use the code SPA150 for the first wash.
Cashmere clothing may be luxurious, but with proper care it can last you for years. So if you have an accident with coffee, wine or sauce, don't despair! Now you don't have to worry anymore because you know how to deal with such a situation!
